About the course

Objective:

The Faculty Development Program aims to enhance the research capabilities of STEM professionals by providing comprehensive training on advanced research methodologies, scientific tools, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence.

Preliminary Agenda and Content Breakdown:

Day-1 (February 05, 2024): Understanding the Foundations of Research Methodology

  • Session 1: Introduction to Research Methodology: Overview of research fundamentals, Types of research and their significance, Ethical considerations in research
  • Session 2: Scientific Tools for Research: Introduction to statistical tools, Data analysis techniques, Hands-on practice with statistical software

Day-2 (February 06, 2024): Exploring Advanced Research Techniques

  • Session 3: Experimental Design and Optimization: Designing effective experiments, Optimization techniques, Practical applications in science and engineering
  • Session 4: Machine Learning in Research: Introduction to machine learning concepts, Applications of machine learning in research, Case studies and hands-on exercises

Day-3 (February 07, 2024): Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Research Methodology

  • Session 5: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Basics of AI and its relevance in research, AI tools for data analysis, Hands-on experience with AI applications
  • Session 6: AI-driven Research Projects: Showcasing successful AI-driven research projects, Collaborative discussion on potential research ideas, Group activity: Designing an AI-driven research proposal

Day-4 (February 08, 2024): Advanced Data Analytics Techniques

  • Session 7: Big Data Analytics: Overview of big data and its challenges, Tools and techniques for big data analytics, Case studies in science and engineering research
  • Session 8: Deep Learning for Research: Understanding deep learning concepts, Applications of deep learning in research, Practical implementation of deep learning algorithms

Day-5 (February 09, 2024): Enhancing Research Impact through Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Session 9: Interdisciplinary Research Approaches: Importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, Identifying interdisciplinary research opportunities, Case studies of successful interdisciplinary projects
  • Session 10: Research Proposal Development and Funding Opportunities: Crafting effective research proposals, Navigating funding opportunities
