About instructor

Dr. Mehar Chand

Dr. Mehar Chand is a distinguished Professor (Assistant) in the Department of Mathematics at Baba Farid College, affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala. In this role, he not only imparts knowledge through teaching but also actively supports math students and the broader mathematical community. Dr. Chand holds the prestigious position of being a member of the Board of Post Graduate Studies in Mathematics at Punjabi University, Patiala, for the session 2022-2023.His research interests are centered around fractional calculus and its applications, Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Methods, Computational Mathematics, Special functions, Hypergeometric functions, Mathematical Physics, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL). Dr. Chand has made significant contributions to the field, evident in his publication record comprising over 70 research papers in national and international journals, including those indexed in SCI, SCIE, and SCOPUS. He has also authored 5 Book Chapters published by Springer.Beyond his research and teaching endeavors, Dr. Chand has an extensive record of engagement in the academic community. He has delivered more than 50 invited talks, expert talks, keynotes, and plenary talks at national and international workshops, faculty development programs, and conferences. Additionally, he has organized over 50 national and international training workshops, webinars, seminars, and faculty development programs.Dr. Chand is also the Founder and President of the MathTech Thinking Foundation (MTTF), a registered entity under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. MTTF serves as the International Scientific Association comprising esteemed experts in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The foundation plays a pivotal role in advancing STEM fields by organizing conferences, workshops, symposiums, and training sessions. MTTF actively encourages regional and international communication and collaboration among its members, fostering professional interaction and lifelong learning.
